Snatchers held with snatched gold chain

Jammu, June 29: In continuation to operation 'Meghdhoot', a special drive against burglary and theft cases launched by Jammu Police, today Gandhi Nagar Police achieved success by apprehending one chain snatcher and recovered gold chain weighing 03 Tolas worth Rs. One Lac.
Police spokesman said that on 4th of June of 2018 one Reena Hakku of Sunjawan Jammu lodged a written complaint at Police Station Gandhi Nagar that one unknown boy snatched her gold chain when she was reached on the stairs of her office United Bank of India Last Morh Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
On this a case under FIR No. 131/2018 under relevant sections of law was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and started investigation.
In order to work out the case a team of officers/officials of Police Station Gandhi Nagar was constituted for arresting the snatcher and hectic efforts were made.
"During investigation many suspects were rounded up. Today during questioning from one Harpal Singh of Amritsar, Punjab presently staying at Balmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar Jammu revealed his involvement in above said snatching case", said spokesman adding that on his disclosure above mentioned gold chain was recovered from his possession.
The arrest and recovery was made by the SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia assisted by SI Kali Charan in-charge police post Digiana under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Ahmed Manhas and SP City South Sandeep Choudhary.
