Early Times Report

Jammu, July21: The SSA had invited applications for various contractual posts but astoundingly has forgotten to start further process of recruitment.
"Previous year, the officials of SSA had advertised nearby 40 posts of Junior Engineer, Data Entry operator 50 post, 28 posts of computer Assistant 75 posts of Orderly/Chowkidar, 15 posts of Resource Teachers, 30 posts of Research Assistant, 13 posts of Assistant Programmer, nine posts each at Assistant Engineer and Auditor, one posts at each Senior Auditor, Programer and Accounts Clerks and four posts of Programme officer", Rajesh Kumar an aspirant of Junior Engineer told Early Times.
He further said that all these posts were distributed by SSA district wise across in which thousands of professional educated youth had applied but so far the official fails to start the further process of recruitment. When the aspirants approach SSA regional office regarding their recruitment, the official said that within days the examination date will be announced but couple of months lapse nothing has done at ground.
"Despite clear direction of government to all head of government departments to speed up the process to hire people for state government services but astoundingly SSA officials had ignored reason best known to higher authority", pleading anonymity an official of SSA said, added that the central Sponsored Scheme SSA has various goals regarding to promote school education sector of state including universal access and retention, bridging gender & social category gaps in education and enhancement of learning levels of children.
Sources further said that under this scheme a variety of interventions inter-alia opening of new schools, alternate schooling facility, construction of schools, drinking water facility, textbooks etc. Couple of years back under the scheme union government has sanctioned number of works but due to lackadaisical approach of SSA mission director as well as higher ups of education department dozens of works yet not completed despite years lapse of commenced and nearby 30 to 40 percent work yet to be taken. For example Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya buildings works sanctioned by Union government couple of years back but till date only 69 building construction work was started, 30 building construction work yet to be taken by state government despite having sufficient fund.
Through, the scheme such building will be constructed especially for girls belonging in Educationally Backward Blocks of Jammu and Kashmir. At one hand government promote 'Beti Bacho Beti Padoo' scheme but others forget the scheme, only benefited for poor girls of state. SSA Mission Director was not available for comments despite repeated calls.
