| Municipal and Panchayat election is good step for peace in J&K: Sodhi | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 21: S S Sodhi Chairman, Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi has appreciated the idea of conducting Municipal and Panchayat election in J&K. He stated that this will give a sense of responsibility to the young generation to develop rural areas of J&K which are deprived of many amenities and development. While addressing the large gathering, he appreciated His Excellency, the Governor of J&K's move to conduct elections in our state as it is already in trouble due to many reasons and this step will give power to the rural youth by proving funds to them for developing rural and municipal areas. It will bring peace and prosperity as the citizens of the state having full faith in the present Govt. and hope this will not delay like it was earlier extended for many years. Members of Civil Society, prominent citizens and rural representatives of many villages attended the meeting and thanked the Chairman for taking this issue in public domain. While speaking on the occasion, many members said that local people can do better job than outsiders. There are many educated young boys and girls and they can be engaged in doing community service and create new opportunities for everyone. Now a day rural ladies can also play a major role in developing those areas. Govt. of J&K should now conduct these elections and start peace process with a kind gesture to put all villagers and municipal representatives to start developing this beautiful state. |
