Jammu, July 22: State Vigilance Organsiation's (SVO) crusade against the corrupt officers who became 'millionaire' slows down when it comes to a political family, as disproportionate asset case of an engineer who has been over staying in same district for last two and half decades once again went unnoticed.
An Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD R&B, Poonch, who is also close relative of a powerful political family in Poonch district again managed escape, at a time when SVO registered cases against officers/officials of various department in Jammu division for disproportionate assets cases.
Sources in the PWD, R&B Department informed Early Times that apart from having huge assets in Poonch town and over stay there, the engineer has huge property in Jammu and other part of country as well.
"The AEE has a palatial house in Sidhra area of Jammu city worth five crore rupees", they said and added that his property does not end in J&K only. "He has a flat in Union Capital and also has luxurious flat in Chandigarh", they said and added that the case of his disproportionate assets, over staying at same place for more than 25 years was time and again sent to SVO but action has been taken so far.
They said that under political patronage and huge money he earned by unfair means he even donot respects of his bosses. "Executive Engineer, Superintendent Engineer even Chief Engineer fear this Engineer, as he directly makes deal with PWD, R&B Minister, it has been learnt, he offers partnership to Minister and they falls in his trap", sources said and added that they hope that during Governor's rules his illegal empire will collapse, and if it is happens, it will encourage dedicated officers, either they have to surrender before the self style Gabbar Singh.
