SKUAST-TAJ donates Rs 50000 for medical help

Jammu, July 24: SKUAST- Teaching Association Jammu has shown its human facet by extending a helping hand to one non teaching employee working in the Dean's office Faculty of Agriculture who was going through his tough times. President SKUAST-TAJ Dr. Vikas Sharma informed that the particular employee is suffering from Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma and was undergoing surgical treatment regarding the disease in Asian Cancer Hospital, Mumbai. In this regard, teaching association handed over a cheque amounting Rs 50,000 to Dr. D.P. Abrol. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST Jammu. Dr. Vikas further told that in the last three years teaching association of SKUAST-Jammu extended financial aid of Rupees Seven Lakhs and twenty Thousands (Rs. 7,20,000) to non teaching staff and students who were undergoing expensive life saving medical treatment in different known Medical Institutions of the country. Dr Vivak M Arya, General Secretary of the association stated that the condition of employee is stable and is improving day by day. Dr. Abrol lauded the efforts of association in this regard and hoped that the association will continue with this humanitarian endeavor and the teachers will generously support the cause that the association has taken in its hand. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rai - Joint Secretary, Dr. Devinder Sharma - Publicity Secretary, Dr. Rajeev Bharat-Treasurer were also present on the occasion.
