Lower rung officials mislead DGP
Incomplete building inaugurated by top cop
7/24/2018 11:58:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 24: The subordinate staff in the Jammu and Kashmir Police has reportedly misled none other than Director General of Police (DGP) by getting an incomplete building inaugurated.
Moreover, after nearly three months of the inauguration, the building is still not being used for the purpose for which it was built.
Sources informed Early Times that Police Construction Division (PDC) had constructed three structures in Gulshan Ground of Police Headquarters. "One of the building was of Non-Gazetted Officers (NGO) Mess, which was abandoned for the last many years and construction was restarted some years back", sources said, adding that though the building was yet to be completed, the PDC organized a function, in haste to get the building inaugurated in the month of April.
The DGP called as main guest on the occasion to inaugurate the building. But to utter surprise of everyone, the rear portion of the building was not furnished.
"After nearly three months of inauguration, still the rear side is in pathetic condition and it is amply clear from the view of building that it needed construction work", sources said.
Sources further said that the building was still incomplete, which was also corroborated by the present status of the building. "It was constructed with a purpose of providing accommodation to non-gazetted officers during their stay at Jammu. Hundreds of police personnel have deputed in Shri Amarnath pilgrimage but despite having a building, they are not being provided the accommodation in the building", sources said, adding that the police personnel deputed for Amarnath pilgrimage, have been spending days in tents.
Sources further disclosed that it was still unknown, how many more months it would take for making the building functional. "An enquiry must be initiated against the officers, responsible for misleading the DGP", said the officials.
