| Cloudbursts, flash floods hits Ganderbal | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 24: The cloudbursts and flash floods triggered by incessant rains hits higher reach in Hayan, Kangan area of Ganderbal District.
Reports said that the River Sindh flows through most parts of Kangan areas like Hayan, Thune and people in many areas live near the banks of the river. However there is huge loss of Agriculture land in some areas.
Locals told that Irrigation and flood control department always ignore people of living in the banks of the river. They added that so far no one form the department visited to check the situation.
AEE Irrigation and Flood control department Imtiyaz Ali Sofi he told that department can't do anything as govt have got a project but due to non-available of funds govt can't approve the project so far.
He further told that the Forest department is also responsible for this issue as they have not allowed NOC from years. He said that as there is some forest land in the areas they need NOC so that they can do further work. |
