JAMMU, July 25: To pay tribute to the martyrs of Kargil and other wars, Forum for Awareness on National Security (FANS) organized a seminar on "National Security and Role of Indian Armed Forces viz-a-viz Citizens of India" here today at Jammu Club. In the seminar, Indresh Kumar, Chief Patron FANS and senior Pracharak, RSS, was the main speaker while Dr Nirmal Singh, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest. Justice Parmod Kohli, former Chief Justice of Sikkim and Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister were the guests of honour. While paying tributes to the Martyrs, Indresh Kumar said that we all should respect and honour our brave soldiers who are serving at borders for the safety and security of all countrymen and added that we should not forget the dedication and commitment of our soldiers who are facing great hardships and living in a difficult conditions for the nation. But at the same time it's duty of all of the citizens to shoulder the responsibility, in respect of internal security and the changing environment.n Dr Nirmal Singh, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, in his address said that since independence the state has witnessed assaults on its security from neighboring countries as well as anti-national elements within. While appreciating the initiatives of FANS, he congratulated the organizers. |
