Suspect bikers wearing similar clothes in both incidents
Experts smell pattern in Bukhari-Batamaloo killings

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 25: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir Police have sought help from the general public to identify suspects in deadly militant attack on paramilitary CRPF that left one soldier dead and his colleague injured in Batamaloo on July 24 in Srinagar, the experts in police smell a pattern in the recent attacks in the civil lines.
In connection with the Batamaloo incident, the police have found that the biker, whose picture has been released to know his identity, is wearing a black check shirt while a black helmet is covering his head.
A similar color check shirt was worn by the biker, whose picture was released by police in connection with the killing of senior journalist and Editor In Chief of Rising Kashmir, Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari on June 14.
What is common between the two pictures pertaining to separate incidents is that both the bikers are wearing similar black and white shirts and both have kept their faces concealed in the black helmets.
"There's a pattern in the two sequences, and this is something which cannot be ignored," said a police official on the condition of anonymity.
The police is probing as to why the militants could be using bikes in this style to carry out attacks in the city.
"What is another thing interesting in the two cases is that both the incidents took place on same route of the civil lines within a distance of one odd mile," said a police official.
Sources said a team of senior police officials is busy in screening video footage of the CCTVs installed in Batamaloo and nearby areas, where the deadly attack took place.
Many of the nearby roads have a battery of the police owned CCTVs installed and cops are hopeful to crack the case in the coming days.
Hours after the attack in Batamaloo for which Hizbul has claimed responsibility, the police released a handout seeking public help identify suspects as were shown in the photograph for the purpose of the police investigation.
"Anybody having any information regarding the said suspects may kindly inform Police Station Batmaloo on 9596770526," a police spokesman said. "The name of the person providing any clue or information regarding the suspects will remain confidential," the spokesman said.
When contacted a police official said the investigations were on. "Nothing can be said with precision as of now as investigations are underway. We are working on some leads," the said.
