| Police bust 'sex racket' in Bemina locality, seven persons arrested | | | Jehangir Rashid

SRINAGAR, Aug 1: Jammu & Kashmir Police today arrested seven persons from the Bemina area in a case of immoral activities going on in that particular area. A cast against the accused has been registered at Police Station Parimpora.
A police official here said that today Police Post Bemina received a complaint that some immoral activity was going on in one of the houses in the city outskirts. The official said that a police party reached the spot and arrested seven persons alleged to be involved in such immoral activities.
"In this connection a First Information Report (FIR) number 284/2018 under sections 3, 5 Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act stands registered in Police Station Parimpora. Investigation into the case is underway," said the police official.
In the meantime, it has been learnt from sources that the persons arrested by the police were involved in running of a full-fledged sex scandal in the Hamdaniya Colony of Bemina area located in the city outskirts near the highway connecting North Kashmir with Central Kashmir, South Kashmir and then Jammu.
"Immoral activities were going on in the locality for the past many days and it was also reported to the local police station. Following this today a raid was carried out by the cops and arrests were made. The arrested included two women and many more arrests are expected in the coming days," said sources. |
