Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: State and JDA land is being sold at Sidhra area by two brothers in connivance with revenue authorities to some non locals who have also started raising structures on the said land.
According to the locals, state and JDA land behind the embankment raised by the irrigation department is being sold blatantly by two brothers.
"Two brothers who are hand in glove with the officials of various law enforcement agencies, are selling state and JDA land to non locals", alleged locals.
Sources claimed that the non locals who have purchased the said land have constructed structures over the said land.
"Some of the persons have also whitewashed their structures to hoodwink the authorities about the recent purchase", said sources adding that sellers have accepting from Rs 2 to 3 lakh per marla for the said land.
Sources further alleged that it was almost clear that some of the government officials, under whose jurisdiction the land falls, had congenial relations with the land grabber and they are sharing the bounty.
"The land grabbers are openly selling state and JDA land without any fear of any law enforcing agency which clearly indicates that the land grabbers have nexus with some officials", said sources adding that the land grabbers are now eying land falls under the jurisdiction of Irrigation and Flood Control Division behind the embankment of River Tawi.
