SUNDERBANI, Aug 1: Justifying his colleague's beating up a fifth class girl in Sunderbani area of Rajouri, a government teacher defamed a journalist who had highlighted the torture committed on the girl.
Recently, at Lower Hatthal in village Barnara, a teacher ruthlessly beat up a Class 5 student Anjali Sharma and used abusive language against her and her family. The girl had also narrated entire episode on camera.
But instead of condemning cruel act of his colleague, a teacher started defaming the media and journalists on social media (whatsapp).
The accused teacher, Gulshan Kumar, organized a meeting and got a clean chit for himself and another female teacher who had also thrashed the innocent child.
Moreover, fearing action from higher authorities, the teacher and his group went to Additional Deputy Commissioner and got their complaint forwarded to SHO Sunderbani and sought action against the journalist as well the newspaper that had reported the girl's torture.
But the ADC Sunderbani and Education Department, instead of taking action against the erring teachers, have started targeting the journalists. |
