BARAMULLA, Aug 1: In a major breakthrough, the Baramulla police on Wednesday arrested an infamous fake doctor, Tariq Ahmad Teli. A top police official said that after specific inputs, they arrested Teli from Pattan area. "A case has been registered against this infamous fake doctor vide FIR 161," the police official said. The Health department had recently sealed a clinic at Hyderbagh, Pattan and seized its record after complaints about a fake doctor practising at three different clinics in north Kashmir.
Following the complaint by BMO Pattan, Dr Masarat Iqbal, the police lodged FIR 156/2018 against the imposter doctor under section 420,336 RPC.
Sources told Early Times that after receiving inputs from locals that some people are running illegal clinics after 6 pm, BMO Pattan Dr Masarat Iqbal raided many clinics on Tuesday pm. In his prompt action the BMO seized all these clinics.
Dr Masarat assured locals that strict action under law will be taken against all accused who were running clinics illegally, said sources. People of the area have hailed the Pattan police for arresting the fake doctor within a short period of time. |
