NSS Unit of GDC RS Pura holds seminar on Swachhta

JAMMU, Aug 1: NSS Unit of Government Degree College RS Pura under the supervision of Dr. Namita Singh (NSS Programme officer) and Advisory Committee Convener Dr. Rich Pal Singh under the guidance of Principal Prof. Kalpana Kesar commenced the Swachhta Pakhwada event by conducting one day seminar on Swachhta.
The event will be for duration of 15 days and a total of 3 NSS volunteers of the college participated in this event.
Proceeding of the program was initiated by Dr. Namita Singh, NSS Programme officer in which the volunteers were briefed about the different activities that will be performed during Swachhta Pakhwada event. Principal Prof. Kalpana Kesar was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Kalpana Kesar inaugurated the event by lightning the traditional lamp. She educated the students about the importance and relevance of Swachhta Pakhwada and educated the students that keeping our surroundings clean is our prime duty. She encouraged and motivated the volunteers to enthusiastically participate in the activities during the observance of Swachhta Pakhwada in these 15 days. Dr. Rich Pal Singh, Advisory Committee Convener NSS also spoke on the occasion and educated the volunteers about the meaning of Not Me But You.
NSS volunteer, Sanchit Kaswalia of Sem-III enthralled the audience by singing a patriotic song.The NSS volunteers namely, Sarabjeet Kour, Sahil Bhagat and Sourav Sharma of Sem-I expressed their views on Swachhta. They through the medium of their speech appraised the necessity of cleanliness and hygiene and the issues related to them. They also highlighted different ways through which together all can lend a hand to eradicate this menace. Further they appealed to all the NSS Volunteers to actively participate in Swachhta Pakhwada and religiously perform their duties.
