Jammu, Aug 1: One day state level "Kissan Panchayat" was held under the chairmanship of Rajesh Sharma Bittu (Chairman, J&K Kissan Council) in Jammu for the formation of "Margdarshak Mandal" state-level advisory committee of J&K Kissan Council.
The meeting was attended by farmer leaders from across the Jammu region from allied field of agriculture. In the presence of various Kissan representatives the advisory committee known as "Margdarshak Mandal" was unanimously formed which included veterans namely DP khajuira (Ex Dir. Agri) SP Verma (Padamshri), SN Khajuria (Padamshri), GD bakshi (Krishi Pandit), and CM Seth.
The J&K Kissan Council (JKKC) advisory committee members while addressing the gathering said, "That main objective of JKKC is to safe guard interest of small and marginal farmers. They highlighted that major milk brand is running campaign for defaming small milk producers by advertising that lose milk is not fit for drinking, which is factually incorrect and wrong propaganda which is against the interests of milk producers. The members also discussed scopes of Dairy Development through Loans, marketing support and maintenance of "gaushalla". The Promotion and formulation of Basmati Mission at ground level alongside Promotion of horticulture in Jammu for new and exotic fruits, especially apple, walnut, promotion in Jammu division also highlighted. The member's emphasized on Convergence of dry and hilly areas of Jammu division for profitable agriculture. Special presentation was made by Illyas Khawja (GM, Land Dev bank) which was highly appreciated by members present. |
