Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 11: Neeraj Gupta urged to the Governor for rehabilitation of the Rehri, Khokha owners' at a suitable place (Rehri Zone) with proper allotment of shops and Kiosk at Transport Nagar, Jammu
Today the Rehri and Kokha union of Narwal along with Neeraj Gupta Zonal President JKNPP held a massive protest against the drive of JDA, in respect of which the JDA has destructed the temporary structures and rehris at Narwal.
They said that the JDA is involved in the conspiracy to increase the unemployment among the Jammuities so that they will attract to words the illegal acts and ultimately the goal of making the J&K state a disturbed state can be achieved. They warn the Govt. that if the Govt. shall not take the matter of their rehabilitation seriously they will further demonstrate against the Govt. along with their family members who were affected by the so called smart city drive of JDA.
The state Govt. announced ex-gratia relief for militants, compensation and rehabilitation policy for the stone pelters, but no one in the Govt. has concern regarding the unemployed youths of the Jammu. They said that we are earning our livelihood in a peaceful and lawful manner, but the people who are talking of the skill development projects are actually trying to deprive of the innocent people from earning their livelihood without the help of the Govt. In spite of generating employment for the unemployed youths of Jammu the Govt. is making every arrangement to disturb the peace loving people of the Jammu who themselves discovered the source of income to earn their livelihood. The fresh incidence of drive of JDA in the Narwal is the worst example of manhandling of the innocent people. The JDA has destructed the rehris and sheds of the people with the help of machines. During this drive of JDA the furniture and other things like tandoors, utensil tools etc. of the people were totally destructed. The people bear loss of property and their daily earnings. We are not able to understand whether this Govt. wants to eliminate Greeb or Greebi. It was the responsibility of the Govt. that the people should have been rehabilitated somewhere else before making such drive. We are not against the beautification of our Jammu City, but not at the cost of its citizens, because no city can survive without its peace loving and patriotic citizens. We demand that the people should be compensated with the adequate relief and should be rehabilitated at a suitable place (Rehri Zone) with proper allotment of shops and Kiosk in their names so that they can earn their livelihood with honesty and dignity.
