| Swachh towns in district Ramban, a distant dream | | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Aug 11: Administration is busy in celebrating 20 days of ' Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018' with much pomp and show but is just an eyewash as the hygiene and sanitation of the towns in this district is not up to the mark.
Garbage has choked most of the drains which also affects movement of vehicles.
Huge dumps of garbage could be seen in Raju Mohalla, cafeteria parking, Shahidi Chowk and Higher Secondary, Lower Maitra besides other part of the towns.
In absence of proper space for Solid Waste Dumping area, the garbage collection vehicles of MC throw all the wastage of town in Chenab and other water bodies.
The Batote town has a similar story to tell. People have taken up the issue with the concerned without results.
Khalid Wani, a social worker said that the huge dump of garbage and water logging in Ramban town creates problems for the passerby.
In the morning time it is very difficult for students to reach school on time.
Mohammad Usman said that the careless attitude of Municipal Committee Batote has been putting the lives of the people to risk. |
