Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 11: The demand for deportation of illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants today gained momentum, when Yoga Guru and business tycoon Baba Ramdev demanded deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from India, saying, if not deported, India would face Kashmir-like problems in many other areas of the country and this would not be in the national interest.
"Whether they are Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Rohingyas or even Americans, illegal immigrants pose a high threat to India's security and thus they all must be deported. We are not able to handle one Kashmir and if Rohingyas are allowed to stay, they will make 10 more Kashmir-like problems for us," Baba Ramdev said. Yoga Guru was commenting on the Supreme Court-monitored exercise in Assam undertaken to identify illegal immigrants and prepare National register of Citizens (NRC). Over 40 lakh people in Assam have not found their names in the NRC and the people are demanding their expulsion from Assam.
Baba Ramdev termed the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam "an important step in controlling the number of illegal immigrants in India, warning that if they are allowed to stay on, they would make 10 more Kashmir-like problems for the country".
Yoga Guru's statement on illegal immigrants and the dangerous implications of their stay in India cane in the wake of loud clamour across the nation against Rohingya and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants. In Jammu also, people have been demanding their deportation since long, saying they posed a threat to the Jammu's demographics and national security, as they are involved in all sorts of illegal activities, including girl trafficking, money laundering, smuggling, thefts, sale of minor girls for Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. Only on Thursday, the police seized Rs 30 lakh from Rohingyas living in the Channi Himmat area, The police said: Some terror outfit giving this huge amount to Rohingyas for carrying out terrr-related activities can't be overruled".
