| Major bovine smuggling bid foiled by police, 23 bovines rescued | | | Ramban, Aug 11: Continuing its special drive against the bovine smuggling launched by Ramban Police & to deal the bovine smugglers with iron hand, on directions of SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, different nakas have been laid, one at chanderkote near JP gate and another at Mehar bridge each headed by SHO Ramban Vijay Kotwal and SHO Chanderkote Abid Shah respectively under supervision of DYSP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik KPS and under close supervision of Additional SP Sanjay Parihar.
During checking of vehicles, a truck bearing reg no. JK02 BP/6685 got intercepted at chanderkote and on its search the said truck was found loaded with bovine animals similarly a tata mobile bearing reg no.JK02CD/6143 got intercepted near Mehar bridge & the said vehicle also found loaded with bovine animals & total 23 bovine animals have been rescued from the clutches of bovine smugglers which they were trying to transport illegally towards Kashmir. Moreover, both the said vehicles have been seized and three accused persons namely Mohd Kalu resident of Mirah Sahib Jammu, Bashir Ahmed resident of Mirah Sahib jammu and Sayeed Ali resident of Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu have been taken into custody. In this regard case FIR No. 117/2018 & 43/2018 U/S 188RPC, 3 PC Act stands registered at P/S Ramban & P/S Chanderkote respectively and investigation being taken up to ascertain the source & other persons involved in the crime. |
