Learning Temple organizes Bapus Swatchh India

Kathua, Sept 26: Learning Temple English Medium School, Kathua has planned a number of activities to celebrate coming 150th Gandhi Jyanti. Accordingly a Drawing Competition was held in the School in which 268 students from 5th to 10th Standard participated. The students were divided into Groups 'A' (5th to 7thClasses) & Group 'B' (8th to 10th Classes). The students of both groups drew colourful pictures on the Theme - "Bapu's Swachh India - Our Goal". From Group 'A' Kashish, Lakshita & Puneet got first, second & third position respectively & from Group 'B' Shoba, Divya, Manshavi & Muskaan got first three positions respectively in the Drawing Competition.
In continuation of the events, the School organized "Plantation Drive" today, the 26thSeptember 2018. In this event, 20 plants have been planted in the School Premises by the tiny & soft hands of tiny students of Classes 1st to 4th under the guidance of worthy teachers & staff of the School. Before that, the importance of Trees and Plants in our life was well explained to the students in the Morning Assembly. It was discussed with the students at length as to how Gandhiji had dreamt "Swachh India".
Urvi, a student of 5th Class spoke about the importance of Trees in our life. She stressed that Life on this earth can't exist in the absence of Trees and so we should plant more and more trees and thus ensure survival of living things in this world. Mayan of Class 1st also spoke on Plantation Drive organized by the School.
Er Naresh Kumar, Chairman of the School Management told that the purpose of the School behind these events is to celebrate 150th Gandhi Jayanti in a big way and convey the message of making "Swachh India" by keeping our environment neat and clean all around. He also told that an effort is being made to inculcate good habits amongst the students from the start of their life for making India Pollution- free by planting more and more plants and throwing waste materials in Dustbins only, so that the dream of Gandhi Ji could be made true and India becomes "Bapu's Swachh India" very soon.
