Irregular CAPD supply triggers resentment at Billawar

BILLAWAR, Nov 27: A large number of people today came on the road against irregular ration supply by CAPD at village Amala, Tehsil Ramkot, Billawar. Balbir Singh, who was leading the protest, pointed out mal-functioning of CAPD officials duly backed by ex-Sarpanch Amala.
Balbir Singh said that according to the CAPD list 500 families fall under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category but ironically only 70 influential got benefits of the BPL quota whereas others were voluntarily ignored by concerned officers.
Singh informed that Bansi Lal, dealer, ex-Sarpanch and TSO Billawar were involved in the scam. He added that illiterate people faced apathy of ex-MLA and bureaucrats and could not get other central or state government sponsored scheme due to uncertainty of the authenticity as BPL beneficiaries.
Thakur Dass, a prominent citizen, informed that the matter was highlight before concerned officers but all gave deaf ear to the grievances of BPL deserved people. Dass alleged that irregularity in ration supply due self fixed dates of supplies by dealer deprived off people to have supply on time.
People demanded vigilance inquiry into the entire matter.
When contacted TSO Billawar Harbans Lal, assured to look into the matter and provide justice for real beneficiaries. He assured restoration of CAPD supply for real beneficiaries of BPL and added that all this menace was occurred during tenure of previous TSO.
