Early Times Report

Doda, Nov 27: Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today appealed students to participate in Kolkata Chalo rally, which will start on November 30.
According to press release, ABVP State Secretary Deepak Gupta and State Joint secretary Rajeshwar Singh said that the rally was being organized against barbaric killings in Darivita School and on a larger issue of Bangladeshi infiltration.
He said that the West Bengal Government had taken a unilateral decision of appointing Urdu teachers against the demands of appointing teachers of subjects like Maths, Bengali etc taken by majority of students.
"The two innocent students namely Rajesh Sarkar and Tapas Barman who were protesting against this decision were inhumanely killed by the police. This horrendous incident shook the entire nation and has imposed a serious threat to the democratic fabric of our society", they said, adding that such minority appeasement act of Mamta Banerjee and her Government is highly condemnable in nature and needed to be defied in a strong manner.
He briefly explained the proposed rally of Kolkata Chalo, which has some demands, which must be looked into by the Central and the State government. Their demands include implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in all the states which face a genuine problem of infiltration, stop appeasement policy of minorities and give citizenship to Bangladesh refugees.
