AIBOC holds protest against Government
12/21/2018 9:53:17 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) held protest in support of their demands which culminated in a one day strike today.
The cold shoulder attitude of the IBA and the Government of India has forced the officers working in the banking sector in the country to launch an agitation in support of their demands forcing down shutters on all branches, said an officer.
Suresh Wali, State Secretary said that all financial schemes of the government of India are being launched through the Public Sector Banks only. At such times we contribute whole heartedly to the successful implementation of these programs, be it the millions of accounts opened in the Jan Dhan Yojna, or the corers of Mudra Loans granted to the public or the unprecedented scale on which exchange of currency notes was undertaken during demonetization. Yet, when it came to demanding our legitimate and legal rights, the government conveniently ignores our demands.
He said that the Bank Officers are determined to get a fair and honorable wage revision for all officers from Scale-I to VII, whatever the cost and the scale of struggle.
He held IBA & Government directly responsible for the inconvenience caused to the customers and the loss caused to the Banks as a result of the STRIKE.
He said that the Association has shown enough patience and has been impressing upon the government & IBA, for the last more than a year, to consider its demands favorably and justly, but unfortunately the government and IBA have been turning a blind eye to the issues at hand which has forced AIBOC to launch an agitation. He hope that the Managements of PSU Banks and the government will awake from their deep slumber and shall be assured that a joint struggle of the officers' community across all PSU Banks shall bring about the desired results.
