IGNOU BEd examination scandal rocks Kishtwar
Over Rs 4 cr collected from candidates

Kishtwar, Dec 21: After mass copying scandal hit various examination centers of IGNOU across the state where the center owners turned multi-millionaires overnight, another scandal involving IGNOU examination for B Ed classes rocked Kishtwar after Pre written answer sheets were recovered from two candidates appearing in the examination at Government Degree College Kishtwar. Both the accused are said to be government teachers.
As per the details available with ET, over 20000 Government teachers had enrolled themselves in IGNOU centers across the state including for the examination centers at Padder, Marmat, Samba, Kathua, Ghat, Doda and other places as the Education department has necessitated the B Ed degree for all the teachers.
As a part of this year examination several government teachers along with others appeared in this year B Ed examination at IGNOU of GDC Kishtwar where the staff on duty seized the two pre written answer sheets with different serial numbers.
As soon as the incident took place, the accused tried to make all efforts to hush up the matter, but some college staff members immediately brought the matter into the notice of local police and CID wing who immediately rushed to the examination center.
After seeing the police party led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, both the accused fled from the spot.
After inquiry into the matter, Kishtwar police according to the sources seized the answer sheets and asked the examination staff to file a written complaint as well.
As per the written complaint filed by Superintendent TEE Dec 2018, SC 1267 (GDC Kishtwar) addressed to SHO Police Station Kishtwar, the accused were identified as Musarrat Hussain (Enrolment No. 184307253) and Johar Ali (enrolment No. 184277999) and the answer sheets recovered from them belonged to some private examination center.
Speaking to ET, some of the candid ates ppearing in the examination said that the question paper was circulated by some people on Whatsapp at around 9.20 AM and added that they were shocked to find the same questions in today's paper.
They said that the accused while arguing with the examination staff shouted that they are not the only culprits, several other people had written the answer sheets at home by paying handsome amount of Rs. 50000 before they escaped from the examination hall.
They urged upon the Kishtwar police to arrest all the culprits involved in this scandal and termed it as multi crore industry and demanded that IGNOU centers should be allocated in Government colleges only.
The sources informed ET that around 800 government teachers were enrolled for this year B Ed examination at private IGNOU centers in Kishtwar District and majority of them were charged between Rs. 50000 to Rs. 80000 each, taking the figure over Rs. 4 cr. The sources said that all the B Ed papers held so far had been leaked and called for immediate cancellation of examination beside action against such examination centers.
