ABVP unit of SRML Hr Sec School holds protest against principal 12/21/2018 10:10:21 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 21: Students of SRML Higher Secondary School Jammu under the banner of ABVP held a protest against principal of the School Shafqat Chib. The protest was led by Akshit Baru, student of 12th Class of the school, who is also secretary of ABVP Parade Zone. Addressing the students, Baru while raising questions over the reconstruction of boundary wall alleged that sub-standard materials are being used and old bricks from the dismantled wall were reused adding that but it has been shown that new bricks were purchased. He also said that this heritage building is 125 years old with wide thick boundaries walls consisting of strong and thick bricks which are still intact in its original shape but on the pretext of fake development it was dismantled deliberately. He said many giant iron bars (Guarders) which were imported from Manchester UK by the founder of the school, then Dogra ruler Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1805 but the principal allegedly sold them as scrap instead of preserving them as heritage wealth of the school. Moreover, he further said that there has been alarming shift in Focus of Shafqat Chib from academic to development which unfortunately is inconsistent with the norms fixed for renovation of Heritage Complexes Many other students of the school present in the protest said that Ranbir School has become a centre of loot where teachers are treated like borrowed slaves and lakhs of rupees were collected from the poor students on the name of fines/penalties which later goes into the personal coffers of the school administration. The students and ABVP appealed to the Governor that in the interest of students, teachers and society as a whole, the principal Shafqat Chib should be immediately suspended and removed from this post.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
