Kishtwar, Dec 26: In yet another act of corruption, the Block Development Officer in Kishtwar District withdrew payments worth lacs as cost of material while the job card holders who are waiting for the payments on account of job days against the work done were deprived of their dues.
The sources said that after withdrawing huge payments on account of material cost and finding some irregularities, the said BDO was attached with the office of Director RDD&PR Jammu, but beyond that no action has been initiated against the said BDO who fraudulently withdrew the bills on account of material cost which otherwise have to be withdrawn in the ratio of 60% (Job cards) and 40% (Material cost).
The sources said that the embezzlement done by the BDO was known to the senior officials as well but instead of taking action against him, joined hands in sharing the bounty.
The sources said that after being attached, the BDO used various political links to get himself posted in Nagsini block of Kishtwar District, but he could not succeed.
The sources urged upon the Governor administration to order special audit of RDD Kishtwar at least during the tenure of incumbent ACD Kishtwar.
It is pertinent to mention that Early Times in the month of September 2018 highlighted the latest corruption nexus in District Kishtwar, wherein the office of the ACD Kishtwar has become a den of corruption. Even the Ombudsmen MGNREGA Doda/Kishtwar range failed to act against the prevailing corruption in RDD Department Kishtwar. |
