Jammu, Jan 5: The J&K State Council of the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) is going to hold a protest rally and demonstration on January 9, 2019 outside the office of the Labour Commissioner, Rail Head Complex, Jammu in protest against the anti-labour policies of the BJP-government.
The J&K State Council President O P Sanyal has said that this demonstration shall be followed by submission of a charter of demands to the Central Government and Governor through the Labour Commissioner. He said that the State Council has also supported the nation-wide strike of Trade Unions in the country on January 8 and 9, 2019 against the wrong policies of the central government for the working class.
Comrade O P Sanyal has alleged that the central government was enacting laws favouring the corporate houses and squeezing the working class and reducing their wages every year while food inflation has touched new heights under the present government. He called upon all the workers to join hands and lodge strong protest against the anti-labour policies of the government.
The State Council of AICCTU leader has said that his Trade Union shall be supporting the activities and protests of all the Trade Unions in the state and in the country irrespective of their affiliations.
He said that this is the need of the hour that Trade Unions should stand united and only this unity can resolve the problems faced by the working class.
