ACB books SE PHE Kargil, Jr Assistant in DA case

Jammu, Jan 5: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked Superintending Engineer PHE Kargil, Sarwan Singh and former Jr Assistant, FCS & CA Romesh Chander for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
Spokesman of ACB said that Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered two separate cases against Superintending Engineer PHE Kargil, Sarwan Singh of 20-A IInd Ext. Gandhi Nagar, Jammu vide FIR no. 2/19 under section 5(1) (e) P C Act Samvat 2006 punishable under section 5(2) of the Act and against former Jr Assistant, FCS & CA Romesh Chander of Village Bhamyal tehsil Nagrota presently staying ay H no. 58-A Indira Colony Janipur Jammu vide FIR no. 3/19 under section 5(1) (e) P C Act Samvat 2006 punishable under section 5(2) of the Act. Spokesman further said that ACB conducted separate verifications against above mentioned accused persons and found that both of them have accumulated huge wealth/assets worth in crores and lacs in the shape of movable and immovable properties through illegal means and corrupt practices in their own names and in the name of family members.
"The comparative analysis of the income, expenditure and assets of the accused persons conducted by the Anti Corruption Bureau revealed that assets owned and expenditures incurred by the accused persons are disproportionate to their known source of income", said spokesman of ACB.
He further said that it is found that present SE Kargil Sarwan Singh has raised huge assets in State and outside which included a double storey fully furnished house at Gandhi Nagar, Ext. Jammu, business activity in the name and style of S.A Electro Equip Pvt. Ltd at 38/4 Block G III cross road Bargavi Platinum Sahakar Nagar, Bangalore, Karnataka, business activity in the name and style of S.A Automation and Communication at 38/7 Block G III cross road Bargavi Platinum, Flat No. PH 07 in fortune Sahakar Nagar, near Domino's Pizza Banglore, Karnataka, Flat in Bharatya City township tannisantra main road Bangalore next to shoba city, Banglore, business in the name and style of S.A Automation in plot No. 805 Sec No. 82 JLPL Industrial Area Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mohali Punjab, Flat No. 30 in Employees Cooperatives building Society Sector no. 68 Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mohali Punjab, Business unit in the name and style of M/S Janta Cement and tiles, bricks and blocks factory at II-nd D Ext. Center Govindsar Kathua and Partnership in M/S Shakti Floor Mill at Sarhano Kalakote. It is also found that Romesh Chander Jr Assistant who was compulsorily retired from service by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2016 also raised various assets in the shape of a double story building on JDA land measuring more than 1-kanal while as his children have undergone MBA and BDS in private colleges on payment basis.
It further revealed that accused had illegally occupied a plot of land measuring 6.75 Marlas falling under Kh. No. 1184 situated at Indira Colony Janipur Jammu where he had constructed a house worth lacs of rupees. Teams of ACB simultaneously raided various residences of accused persons after registration of formal case against them, with the help of local police /magistrates at the residences and factory premises in Kathua and Rajouri districts.
"During the course of searches at residential complexes of the accused person, it has been found that huge expenditures have been made on various immovable properties who is also running various business establishments also", said spokesman adding that during the process, all relevant record/suspicious documents which have been recovered from various locations are being seized on spot in presence of independent witnesses. Detailed and in-depth scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by sleuths of vigilance organization.
