Increase in air pollution continues at Battel Ballian industrial area

Udhampur, Jan 7: All cement manufacturing factories in Battal Ballian here are operating in violation of norms and are polluting the air thereby posing a grave threat to precious human lives.
Early Times team found heaps of dust around thew factories.
Experts opine that if this continues then the locality near these factories will be easily infected by respiratory and other deadly diseases like lungs cancer and other heart diseases which occurred air pollution even two day back locals protest against the cement units who were polluted this area but pollution increases continue no action against these industries by the concerning authorities or distric administration
Sohan Lal-a local informed that many times they brought this into the notice of the distric administration as well as PCB against these factories and appealed them to control the pollution but nothing happen
Moreover, the factories works round the clock and disturbs the sleep of people at night due to noise and black smoke coming out of its resulting people difficult to breathe when they were sleeping
The Pollution Control Board here has always posed a blind eye to the violations by this factory while Directorate of Industries are also in the same line as far as its working is concerned. , he added
Sources informed that pollution control meters measuring the pollution labels of industries already installed in every cement unit but not working properly Even no check from concerning authorities like PCB and maximum night times metres were not worked if its work properly then the report of pollution labels of these industries directly will show at PCB head office at Delhi
Sources further inform that a over stay employ of PCB department still there from the four years approximately and he was directly deal with all cement units but authorities not transfer him resulting locals of this areas suffering due to polluted air
Many times locals appeal to district administration and industrial department start one shift for running the cement plants and avoid to night time but noting has been done , sources added
When contacted Suram Chand general manager of industries , said that I will try to control the cement units who were running at night time and then locals of this area live from the relaxation of polluted air .
