Muzaffar Beigh says injustice done with Jammu during PDP regime
Veteran turns veracious!

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 7: While addressing the commemoration ceremony of PDP founder Mufti Sayeed here in PDP head office, recently anointed party patron Muzaffar Beigh openly admitted that the party has done injustice with the Jammu region of the state.
Beigh said that the party's indifferent attitude towards the people of Jammu was the reason that PDP couldn't win any seat from Jammu during the assembly and parliament polls. " I admit it that even after coming to power in the state, we couldn't take care of the people of Jammu region," Beigh said in his address.
This is meanwhile for the first time since the inception of the PDP that any of its leaders have so vehemently admitted that injustice has been done with the Jammu region. Most of the leaders of the Kashmir centric parties used to cry foul over the discrimination with Kashmir and accuse that lion's share is being given to the Jammu region. However, Muzaffar Beigh has become the first amongst the tribe of leaders from Kashmir who have admitted that injustice was meted out with Jammu.
However, what is more, ironic is the fact that the party handout didn't mention a single detail about Beigh's such a remark, giving an impression that the party stoically wants to keep the remarks discreet.
Addressing a commemoration ceremony of third death anniversary of PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at PDP head-office in Jammu, Beigh said that the biggest tribute to the PDP founder would be to keep the brotherhood and religious harmony of the state intact and alive and not to allow black sheep to infiltrate into the otherwise tolerant state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Beigh stated further that soon after the polls of 2014 accorded a fragmented mandate in Jammu and Kashmir, the main reason that the PDP decided to form the coalition with the BJP was to facilitate the Hindu Muslim unity in the country and to end the wedge created amongst the two communities due to decades of animosity and intolerance. "We respected the mandate the BJP got from Jammu region of the state and formed the coalition only to keep different regions of the state intact and usher a new era of brotherhood and religious harmony," Beigh said.
The PDP leader also welcomed the offer of friendship extended by Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan to India, stating that if the relations between the two countries become cordial, it will automatically have a positive impact on Jammu and Kashmir and that the people of the state could heave a sigh of relief from death, violence, and pillage.
The PDP Patron said that the party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed laid the foundation of the PDP by investing all the six decades of his political experience and was successful in making PDP a guiding force in Jammu and Kashmir's political landscape.
He added that when the PDP formed the government in the state post-2002 elections for the first time, there was a major change witnessed in both the political as well as in the administrative set up of the state. "We want the peace to become an inseparable feature of the state and want our people to scan new horizons with eager hope," Beigh said in his address.
