Wet outfield ruined day one of the Ranji match

Jammu, 7: First day of the Ranji match between team Jammu and Kashmir and team Jharkhand was called off due to wet outfield at Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground, Jammu.
The Jammu and city had witnessed heavy showers on Saturday, two days prior to the match but with the kind of facilities at the ground the match could not resumed. However there was no shower in the Jammu city today, yet day one was called off without the toss.
Team Jammu and Kashmir is already out of the quarterfinal race, with 3 wins in 8 games and four lost matches in the elite C group. Jammu and Kashmir lost the first match to Rajasthan by 75 runs, Goa team held J&K to a draw.
J&K team outclassed Tripura by 8 wickets, but lost to Services in other encounter. Uttar Pradesh defeated Jammu and Kashmir team in their own back yard with heroics of Suresh Raina.
Haryana was next and Jammu and Kashmir registered their second win visitors.
Odisha visited Jammu and Kashmir, and visitors mesmerized hosts by 8 wickets. Jammu and Kashmir team travelled Assam and registered their third win of the Ranji match. Last match was to be played between Jharkhand at home ground. Team Jharkhand had some quality experience of Indian Premier League players and handy accomplished International cricketers.
There were some supervision of the ground by the umpires on time to time but could not held decision of playing the game as field was wet and unsuitable for the match.
There was the sense of disappointment on the face of the spectators who had come to witness the last match of the season but had to move back without witnessing one single ball of the day.
One of the spectator said that look at the condition of cricket association they could not clear the outfield on proper time.
