Early Times Report

RS Pura, Jan 7: Hundreds of people from village Jajowali today staged protest demonstration outside RS Pura police station against the alleged casual attitude of police over the mysterious killing of a youth of the village.
The protesters were raising slogans against police department and were demanding constitution of Special Investigative Team (SIT) to probe the case. Addressing the protesters, Congress leader Manjeet Jatt said that Sunil Kumar's dead body was found just 500 meters from his house on the morning of 31st of December. "Sunil Kumar was nude and had injury marks over his body and it was a murder but so far police has not registered case under section 302 but merely under section 174 of CRPC", Jatt said, adding that initially police had shown prompt action and arrested four person and also recovered the mobile phone of deceased from one of youth's possession.
"They have only arrested four suspects but a police officer tried to pressurize the family members to make a compromise with the accused persons", Jatt said, adding that some of local politicians were involved in the heinous crime and have been helping the accused persons.
The protesters sought constitution of SIT to probe the entire matter and take strict action against the perpetrators of crime, who brutally killed Sunil Kumar on intervening night of 30-31st of December. The protesters threatened to launch a massive agitation if strong action would not be taken against the culprits and police would not ensure justice to the family.
