7 Standing Committees of JMC get elected

JAMMU, Jan 9: The election of the 7 Standing Committees viz General Functions, Housing for All, Skill Upgradation & Self- Employment, Swacch Bharat, Finance & Planning, Public Health Sanitation and Social Justice were conducted here today at Council Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Town Hall.
The election was conducted in presence of Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma. The members of 3 committee viz Finance and Planning, Public Health Sanitation and Social Justice were elected un-opposed. Whereas, the elections of 4 standing committees viz General Functions, Housing for All, Skill Upgradation & Self- Employment and Swacch Bharat were held through secret ballot in which Mayor and Deputy Mayor along with 73 councillors casted their votes. The results were declared by the Commissioner, JMC Pankaj Magotra on spot.
Mayor and Deputy Mayor congratulated the elected members of the committees. The members elected for General Functions Committee included Councillors Dinesh Gupta, Bhanu Mahajan, Neeraj Puri, Sucha Singh, Akshay Sharma, Sunita Gupta, Anu Bali and Surjeet Singh.
Members elected for Housing for All Committee included Councillors Sharda Kumari, Narotam Sharma, Surinder Choudhary, Suneet Kumar, Inderjeet Kour, Pritam Singh, Jagdish Sharma and Surinder Sharma.
Members elected for Skill Upgradation and Self- Employment Committee are Councillors Neelam Nargotra, Sat Paul Karlupia, Jaideep Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Sonika Sharma, Kapil Singh Chib, Charanjeet Kour and Amit Gupta.
Members elected for Swacch Bharat Committee included Councillors Suraj Parkash, Hardeep Singh (Mankotia), Mohi-ud-Din, Jyoti Devi, Gopal Gupta, Rachpal Bhardwaj, Sandhya Gupta, Inder Singh Sudan and Yash Pal Sharma.
The unopposed elected members for Finance and Planning Committee included Councillors Anil Kumar (Ward No 68), Anil Kumar (Ward No 10), Nidhi Mangotra, Sunita Koul, Ashok Singh, Neena Gupta, Gourav Chopra and Anita Sharma.
The unopposed elected members for Public Health Sanitation Committee included Councillors Baldev Singh, Mohinder Kumar Bhagat, Arun Kumar Khanna, Narinder Singh, Shama Akhtar, Rajinder Singh, Tirath Kour Raina, Raj Kumar and Sobat Ali.
The unopposed elected members for Social Justice Committee included Councillors Jeet Kumar, Tripta Devi, Ajay Gupta, Raj Rani, Kuldeep Singh, Ritu Choudhary, Rama, Sham Lal and Subash Sharma.
