| PC leader called for sensitizing MLCs CDF | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Jan 9: Launching a scathing attack on a legislator for approving the estimates worth crores of rupees out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan areas of Kishtwar District which are under the thick blanket of 2 to 3 feet of snow, the People's Conference leader and councillor from Kishtwar Municipality Sajjad Ahmed Najjar said that the attempt of legislator is to swindle the said money through middlemen ahead of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections scheduled to be held anytime in next 3-4 months. While addressing media persons at a hurriedly called Press Conference, Najjar said that he was surprised to see that the young MLC approved the estimate worth over Rs 2 crore out of his CDF which he had kept reserved since long adding that if the legislator was really interested in the development made out of his CDF, he should spent the same for the development of hospital, poor roads, under developed Guriyan area of Kishtwar which is though close to Kishtwar District Headquarter lacks the basic civic amenities and many areas in and around Kishtwar town where working season is somehow favourable. He said that he meet several officials including some Executive Engineers, beside officials of RDD department and warn them against withdrawal of CDF amount without execution of the works on ground. He also called on DC Kishtwar to look into the issue and threaten that in case any official withdraw the said amount without execution of the works on ground, the said officer will himself be responsible for his job. He said that he will also approach the anti graft bodies for inquiry into the matter. |
