Jammu, Jan 9: Team Jammu and Kashmir trail by 144 runs in second innings on the day three stumps against team Jharkhand in an ongoing Ranji match at Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground, Jammu.
Resuming the score on 9 runs for no loss, team Jharkhand lost the first match on the score of 10 runs. Jharkhand lost the second wicket on the score of 16 runs. But it was all team Jammu and Kashmir made some quick wickets in the first innings.
One hundred-run partnership was scored by K Deobrat and Saurab Tiwary. Deobrat scored 74 runs and Saurab scored brilliant century showing hosts how to bat. Rest of the batsman failed to score big. Four players managed to score in double figures, rest of the seven players scored in single digit numbers.
As usual Captian Rasool got 4 scalps and Rasikh Salam got three wickets. There was some timely partnership by the visitors took the score past 300 runs. Team Jharkhand scored 319 runs in the first innings.
Earlier with outfield running one and half of the day of the Ranji match washed out, team Jammu and Kashmir won the toss on the second day and decided to bat on the track which would have favored bowlers at Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground, Jammu.
Coming into the bat, Jammu and Kashmir team continued their batting season's woes with first three batsmen's contributing just 21 runs. Qamran Iqbal was first to perish for 11 runs, Suryansh Raina adding six runs to the board. Both the wickets fell in the same fashion, edging to the keeper.
Shubham Khajuria was the next scalp continuing his poor batting run, he scored mere 4 runs. Owais Amin scored half of the team scores runs, no other batsman could bat along with Owais. Owais scored 76 runs with hitting 6 fours and four long 6s.
Both Irfan Pathan and Captain Parvez Rasool failed to impress, Pathan scored hard fought 15 runs and Rasool flounder to even score in double figures. Pathan was bowled by Ankul Roy and Rasool was bundled out by A Yadav.
Aditya Singh scored the golden duck facing 8 balls. Yet again, middle orders failed to score big to provide an opportunity for the bowlers to bowl at the good fightable total. Qamran scored 11, Suryansh scored, Khajuria 4, Owais 76, Rasool 3, Adtiya golden duck, Pathan 15, Musaif 11, Govind 6, Rashikh Salam and Umar 3 runs.
Ajay Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors; Yadav had five scalps with four of them being top order batsmen and over an economy of 1.37. Ankul Roy grabbed three wickets with an economy 3.86.
