WPHRF holds meeting, discusses disbursement of relief

Kathua, Jan 14: A meeting of executive members of West Pakistani Hindu Refugee Front (WPHRF) was held at Kathua to explain West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs) regarding Scheme for Disbursement of Relief to West Pakistani Refugees for Rs 5.5 Lakh to 5764 WPR old families, who actually migrated from Pakistan during 1947, on partition of India and settled in Samba, Jammu and Kathua Districts, vide J&K Govt Order No 57-DMRRR of 2018 dated 11.10.2018 (available on www.divcomjammu.gov.in), in order to educate them regarding completion of formalities before processing of their Claims with the Authorities. Certain doubts regarding obtaining copy Voter List of 1951 and Succession Certificates as mentioned in the above order, were also clarified as are mandatorily required to be enclosed with the claim.
The meeting was presided over by Hony Sub Major Madan Lal Dubgotra, Chairman of the WPHR Front. S. Hardev Singh Soodan, President Seema Jan Kalyan Samiti, J&K and Master Dev Raj also spoke of the occasion.
While speaking on Cash Relief of 5.5 lakhs each to 5764 WPR families only, who actually migration from Pakistan during 1947, Madan Dubgotra expressed that though this relief is very meager, where in many cases next survivor heirs will receive only Rs 1 lakh or even\ less while some will get 2.laks or so and only odd number will get full 5.5 lakh relief. Yet it is a great achievement towards first step by the State Govt to provide any relief, and is carrying out a survey to work out the actual No of WPRs families residing in the J&K.
