PoK DPs indefinite chain dharna enters 19th consecutive day

Early time Report

Jammu, Jan 14: S. O. S. International an organization of PoK displaced persons, a fighting force to reckon with the legitimate & just rights of most unprivileged persons of society has entered into indefinite\ chain dharna on 19th consecutive day today.
While leading today's dharna Tirath Ram from R. S. Pura alleged that some forces are burning mid night oil to create hurdles & hell bent upon to fail the agenda of scheme thus compelling us to sit on indefinite dharna.
It is most\ surprising that the people & law makers who introduced this scheme are now MPs & Ministers but we are astonished to note that why they are quite silent now & even never bothered to pay visit to dharna sthal to redress the grievances. Tirath Ram further stated that Rs. 2000 Cr was sanctioned though this amount was not acceptable but the people at the helm promised to give Rs. 30 Lakh per family & as gesture of goodwill this amount was sanctioned in the beginning but to our great dismay only Rs. 500 Crores was released in last 4 years and more than 2000 cases are pending for want of payments but no fund has been released for over four months if the pace of distribution of relief continued like this it will take next 50-100 years for final payment. Further it was alleged by team leader Tirath Ram that most of the displaced families as a temporary measures have been provided land, quarters & Ex Gratia grant but they have not been found eligible for payment as the record with P. R. O. office is not available the excuses are being made that either the record is burnt or destroyed as the land allotted, quarters allotted & Ex Gratia payment made is itself a proof of making them eligible to get payment while as no such record is demanded from the West Pakistani Refugees.
