Jammu, Jan 19: MJR-47 organization of DPs of 1947 appealed to the present Govt. dispensation to include the DPs of 1947 from POJK in this reservations being truly pahari people living in the state and still awaiting final settlement.
Right from the day we, the DPs of 1947 from POJK had been forced to migrate to this part of state, all the Govt. dispensations, since then have shown discriminatory attitude towards our community depriving us of proper due Relief & Rehabilitation and ultimate justice for the past seven decades.
Even after legitimization of our claims by state Govt. in Oct. 2014 and Parliamentary standing Committee on Home Affairs in Dec. 2014 making various recommendations for relief and rehabilitation, the Govt. did not do justice to DPs by settling their right clai Contrary to these recommendations the central govt. sanctioned Rs 2000 crores which works out to Rs 5.5 Lakhs per family as per count as registered immediately after migration in 1947 against the Rs 25 Lakhs and Rs 30 lakhs as recommended by state Govt. and DRPSC on Home affairs GOI. The cash hardly comes to a few thousand per family as each family has grown to 4-5 times in the last seven decades, without any action on series of other recommendations. State Govt. for quite some time had been working on reservations to "Pahari" people in the state. |
