| CEOs reprimanded for non- completion of service books | | DDOs sit over employees' records | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of Education Department have been sitting over employees' services records as they have not been maintaining services book records of the employees for years and in this regard, the Secretary School Education Jammu has reprimanded all the Chief Education Officers.
Sources in department informed Early Times that it has been pointed out in a video conference, convened by Secretary School Education Jammu held on January 9, wherein it is found that the majority of DDOs aren't maintaining the service records of the employees working under their control due to which the subordinate officials are suffering badly.
Thereafter, however all the concerned CEOs of Jammu division have forwarded same circular to all the DDOs of respective zones to complete services books regularly particularly making entries of any kind of leave sanctioned in the services book immediately and it shall be completed in all respects at end of each financial year.
Sources while wishing anonymity alleged that every year the higher officials send such communiqués to district level officials but despite all of these, the DDOs never completed the service records timely, causing huge inconvenience to the employees during promotions, regularizations etc.
"The DDOs firstly delay making entry in service records and thereafter they demand money to complete it", alleged sources.
One of the employee said that he recently got promotion after completion of nine years of service in education department but his service book wasn't completed by three concerned DDOs and incumbent has also denied the same arguing that he would sign it only once the previous DDOs signed the same. |
