Mehbooba used Info Deptt to crush ET for being pro-Jammu: Harsh Dev 1/29/2019 12:01:18 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 28: Lambasting Information Department for its biased approach against Early Times, in government advertisement distribution, former Minister and Chairman JKNPP, Harshdev Singh today said that Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister used director Information as to toll to crush early times, for highlighting discrimination against Jammu. He said that Mehbooba Mufti as CM remained focused on Kashmir, she tried to muzzle pro-Jammu forces including Early Times. "She used 'Director Information' to pressurize, the paper, unfortunately, for the director, even the incumbent pursued, the political agenda of CM", he said and added that she hatched a conspiracy to suppress the voice of Jammu, by choking flow of government advertisements, and it is highly condemnable. "There should be a fair distribution process of advertisement, there must of uniformity without any kind of prejudices and biasness", he said. He advised that the officers should avoid being a toll of political agenda of any political party, otherwise you cannot do justice with your position. "They should not go out of way to appease his political masters. And avoid to act like a toll of political masters", he added. The then director of the Information department Muneer-ul-Islam during the PDP-BJP regime used to act like "King of J&K" he never used to pick up the calls nor he used to remain accessible even in his office. He knew that he enjoys the political patronage and no one can act against him. He used to spend much of his time at the CM secretariat. The change of guard in Jammu and Kashmir led to his transfer from the Information department and nothing more. He still continues to be a powerful bureaucrat with all the facilities at his disposal. Even in Governor's rule he enjoys the company of his old politician bosses.
