Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 28: After uncovering the major scandals in Rural Development Department with regard to misappropriation of CDF by incumbent BDO Dachhan Parveen Kumar and Ex BDO Marwah Raiz Ahmed Lone (Now BDO Warwan), more than 18 Crores have been withdrawn as material cost under MGNREGA in last four years in the name of around two dozen blue eyed persons including political activist, former Sarpanchs and relatives of the employees of the RDD department.
The documental trail in possession of ET reveal that out of Rs. 18.38 Crores, Rs. 15362426 have been withdrawn from Afti Panchayat for the release of material in the name of Abdul Gani Wani, Mohammad Rajaab, Ghulam Hussain, Ghulam Nabi and others. In Basmina Rs. 10415573have been withdrawn as material cost under MGNREGA in the names of Abdul Rashid, Abdul Gani, Bilal Ahmed, Mohammad Sultan and others.
In Panchayat Mergi Rs. 18385944 have been withdrawn against the name of Mohammad Akbar Lone, Mohammad Rajab Malik, Noor Mohammad Malik and others.
In Panchayat Inshan an amount of Rs. 14341914 has been withdrawn against the name of Bashir Ahmed Maroo, Abdul Salam, Farooq Ahmed, Ghulam Rasool & others.
In Panchayat Sukhnie an amount of Rs. 14127254 has been withdrawn against the names of Ghulam Hussain Wani, Dilawar Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, Abdul Rashid, Sannaullah, Mohammad Sultan, Ghulam Hussain Mir and others.
In Panchayat Mulwarwan an amount of Rs.6285821 against the names of Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Hussain Wani, Abdul Razaq and others and lastly in Panchayat Choidraman Rs. 18034288 have been withdrawn against the names of Farooq Ahmed Lone, , Abdul Rashid, Sannaullah, Ghulam Hussain Lone, Ghulam Rasool and others.
Speaking to ET, people informed that they were shocked to see the withdrawal of huge amount of material cost on the name of few influential persons who are political activist associated with the ruling parties or the relatives and wivesof the employees posted in the area.
They said that as per the principle, the MGNREGA job card holders should be the prime beneficiaries of the material cost payments, but the big fishes in the RDD department swindle this money to fill their coffers instead of distributing the same among poor job card holders.
Political and Social Activist Abdul Wahid Malik who had launched crusade against the deep rooted corruption in the RDD blocks of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan called for setting of high level committee to look into the huge embezzlements in RDD Warwan.
