Early Times Report

RAMBAN, Mar 10: People of Ramsu organised a Youth convention which was followed by 'Adikaar Rally' from Ramsu to Makarkoot against construction company HCC involved and administration Ramban.
The protest was held under the leadership of Congress leader and Former National President NSUI Fairoz Khan alongwith hundreds of youth.
Khan condemned the work of four laning work on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and said that construction companies playing with the lives of people for their vested interest.
He said that the National highways authority is totally negligent and the company HCC has today destroyed lives of people and flora, fuana of the district Ramban.
He added that there is increase in asthma patients due dust and many aminal are falling sick due to same.
Khan said that structure holder and landowners has been deprived from job in different construction companies while officials of companies in the beginning of project assured the public that companies will engage structure holder and landowners on priority basis in on going Four Lane project, but instead the employment is given to other on pick and choose basis not on basis of merit or National to deserving candidates.
He added there is no maintenance of roads, no utilization of CSR, there one way vehicular movement on NH44 from last 3 years and some time no movement due to which passengers are suffering and day to day traffic jam and it has taken toll on tourism also, once a tourist is stuck in jam or on highway for days he never comes back and spread a bad word and this is not good for tourism industry as well.
The casual attitude of National highway Authority of India and the company involved in 4 constructing four lanning of National highway from Nasiri tunnel to Jawahar tunnel, which has further sublet the work to contractor who has neither work experience nor have required engineers and administration being a mute spectators till date itself speaks the volume of nexus involved.
"The houses damnaged, deforestation at large scale and no reforestation , villages are sinking , who is responsible but now theses companies say ROW is out their survey but due to unplanned cutting this has happened, the villagers are going door to door but no heads are paid to them" he said.
He maintained that the compensation given was on old rates now it 2019 where these people will go, Govt to allocate land to theses villagers and given the compensation on updated rates adding that rehabilitate these villagers or face agitation should be done at earliest.
Khan added that we want development but not at cost of people lives, Right to life is fundamental right and it duty of administration to protect it.
"The district Ramban has become epicentre of earthquakes and it this unplanned work goes on the day is not far we will heading towards a disaster" he added.
He said that we have chosen Ramsu to start fight against this organised mafaia because it's centre points and Ramsu people are most suffers.
The administration should take immediate step and police too should file FIR against theses companies if they are not involved with this Mafia, if not then face the agitation of youth and people of district Ramban.
