After Jamaat and Geelani, Mehbooba supports Mirwaiz
PDP can do anything for separatists!
3/10/2019 11:57:17 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 10: With no let up in her alleged support for the anti-national elements, Peoples Democratic President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is now out to support Hurriyat M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Taking to social media on Sunday she said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) summons to Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman were suggestive of New Delhi's "repeated assaults on our religious identity."
"Mirwaiz Farooq isn't any ordinary separatist leader. He is religious & spiritual head to Kash Muslims. NIA summons to him are emblematic of GOIs repeated assaults on our religious identity. J&K is the proverbial sacrificial lamb exploited to divert attention from real issues," she said in the Tweet.
Amid major crackdown on the anti-national elements, Mehbooba has been vehemently supporting the separatist ideology and batting for their cause.
Just recently when New Delhi imposed ban on Jamaat e Islami, Mehbooba was among the first only to speak in support of the banned party but she took lead in staging roadside protests in support of the Jamaat.
It has been an open secret in Kashmir that the PDP also enjoys cordial relations with the separatist camp led by Syed Ali Geelani.
During 2016 agitation, the PDP government had given government job to Geelani's grandson Anees Ul Islam, who presently works at the SKICC.
The PDP is also accused of having given space to Geelani to take out anti-India rallies during their regimes.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday summoned the Mirwaiz and the son of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani for questioning in Delhi.
According to the notice served on them, the Mirwaiz and Naseem Geelani have been asked to appear at the NIA headquarters in Delhi on Monday.
On February 26 the NIA team, accompanied by police and CRPF personnel had raided the residences of separatist leaders, including the Mirwaiz, Naseem Geelani, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yaseen Malik and several others.
PDP has been speaking in support of most of them.
Despite repeated attempts the PDP leader couldn't be contacted for comments.
