Jammu, Mar 19: Continuing its war against the menace of drugs, J&K Police of Ramban district arrested two drug peddlers and recovered one kilogram of charas from their possession at T chowk Banihal of district Ramban, this afternoon. Police spokesman said that the drug smugglers have been identified as Shabir Ahmed Chopan of Krawah, Tehsil Banihal and Yawar Ahmed of Charsoo Awantipora. Police spokesman said that on a specific information, a special naka was laid at T chowk Banihal. "During checking and frisking, two pedestrians were signalled to stop but they tried to run backwards towards Railway station," said spokesman adding that the alert cops on naka chased and overpowered them. Spokesman further said that during frisking of their baggage, one kilogram of charas got recovered. In this connection a case under FIR No 28 of 2019 has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation taken up. |
