Jammu, Mar 19: Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was caught on wrong foot on Tuesday over the issue of withdrawal of security cover to politicians in the state.
Reacting over the withdrawal of security cover, Mehbooba Mufti had twitted, "Security to political leaders being used as a political tool. Withdrawal of security to Waheed, Faesal and Er Rashid is a brazen attempt at influencing elections. It's a kind of pre-poll rigging. ECI should immediately intervene".
It was unknown whether ECI took cognizance and intervene but Engineer Rasheed immediately intervened to correct the former Chief Minister.
Replying to Mehbooba Mufti, Engineer Rasheed tweeted, "With due respect, I request Madam Mehbooba Jee to correct her information. She is talking about my security being withdrawn, which I never had. Xtra strange".
It is quite strange that Mehbooba Mufti who was Chief Minister of the state was unaware that Engineer Rasheed had not taken security cover even during her regime. More disturbing is that how she shared wrong information without verifying it. "She is head of PDP and peddling such unauthentic information raises serious question over the knowledge of these leaders", an official said. |
