udhampur, Mar 19: In a startling revelation it has come to fore that there is a middleman in Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) who works to facilitate all illegal construction works in the famous hill station and negotiates graft amount with babus.
Sources informed that a overstaying employee in PDA, engaged as Khalafwarji on consolidated basis has during his 19 years of stay has become a darling of babus. His influence can be gauged from the fact that a complaint against him with the crime branch has gone in vain.
According to insiders, he has become an expert in motivating any new officer in PDA to earn wealth much beyond expectations.
"The hotels are `looting' the tourists at Patnitop to sustain their business as they are forced to bear `wrong expenses'," a hotelier informed.
The Khilafwarji gets the PDA nod for construction of illegal hotels at the health resort in lieu of money, sources said.
Insiders have questioned his regularization and prolonged stay in the PDA.
They have appealed to the Governor to look into the matter. |
