Srinagar: The Income Tax department in New Delhi has attached the Syed Ali Geelani’s flat at Malviya Nagar in New Delhi.
An order issued by the department states that the directions have been made as Geelani has failed to pay taxes to the Income tax department.
The order was passed by the IT department on March 29 that restrained Geelani from transferring, charging the property.
The order reads that the move has been taken as has failed to ‘pay the sum of 3,62, 62, 160 for the AY 1996-97 to 2001-02’.
“It is ordered that your are hereby, prohibited and restrained , until the further order of the undersigned, from transferring or charging the mentioned property,” reads the order. |
