Sangarsh holds seminar on peace initiatives

JAMMU, Apr 9: Sangarsh- A civic movement for Justice , Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood in connection with its conventional Rajouri Day Celebrations activities held a seminar cum interaction at Government Degree College Thanamandi, sub division of district Rajouri regarding Peace Initiatives and also distributed documents covering basic vital information about Rajouri and Rajouri Day.
Interacting with the students and faculty of College the General Secretary of the movement Dr.Suresh Sangarshi Assistant Director (Research) Indian Council of Historical Research-an autonomous organisation under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi praised the College Administration in collaborating with the cause and claimed that maintaining everlasting harmony for sustainable peace is the real essence of celebrating Rajouri Day.
Dr.Suresh opined that since antiquity our religious teachers, spiritual gurus and social reformers through their teachings laid stress on the establishment of prosperous society and nation and now today in 21st century which is the age of technology the aims of peace and harmony cannot be achieved until the young intellectual minds of the nation are awakened towards their duties and rights. He further opined that in a country like India represents unity in diversity having half of its population between the age group of 25 to 35 it is highly required that the peace initiatives be carried and disseminated by them. He also urged upon the social, religious and educational groups of the state to come forward in spreading the message of peace and harmony at every nook and corner of the state so that we can make our state as the binding force among all the communities for mutual coexistence.
Also, expressing the views Vikrant Sharma, the Chief Coordinator of Peace Initiatives and Rajouri Day Events opined that keeping this year the main focus of our activities will be spreading the message of our noble great saints and leaders who sacrificed their lives for the well being of human kind. He also urged upon the youth for their maximum contribution and help to Sangarsh and its sister Regd. organisations in achieving its goal of peace and harmony in the nation in general and in the region in particular
Prof.(Dr) Shakeel Raina, Principal, Govt Degree College Thanamandi has expressed his gratitude to the members of Sangarsh for choosing the college for such an activity which will result in inculating the values of brotherhood among the students. He also assured his full cooperation to the organisers for carrying out such events in the college in near future.
