Farooq trying to become Messiah of Kashmiri Pandits, forgets venom he spitted against them two years ago

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9: The dual face of the national conference patriarch Farooq Abdullah was on display today when all of a sudden his mind began thinking about the hardships of the Kashmiri pandits, forgetting the venom he spitted against the community in the past.
Farooq Abdullah in one of the poll rallies tried to project himself as a Messiah of the Kashmiri pandits- accusing the Modi led government of doing nothing for them in the past five years. "5 saal innohne hukumat ke. 5 saal hukumat mai inhone wada kiya tha ke hum pandito ko yaha basayange. usne sarkar ko appeal ke sir jo apne kaha hai ke tum ghar vapas aaoge toh hum basayenge. Usne sarkaar ko khat likha par aaj tak Modi ji usey ek paisa nahi mila. Tum sirf Kashmiri Pandito ke vote lene ke liye usme likte ho ke hum tumhe basayange. Modi ji kaunsa insaaf kar rahe ho? Yeh hua hai." (They ruled the state for 5 years. They had promised resettlement to Kashmir Pandits back in their home state. The Pandits even appealed to the government but to no avail. They have not received even a single penny Modi Ji. You just write all this to seek votes of the Kashmiri Pandits. Is this justice Modi Ji?)
However, the NC President is forgetting the fact that he was the first to ridicule the Pandit community and accused them of living a luxurious life.
The story dates back to January 19, 2016. Speaking in a function, Abdullah put the blame on Kashmiri pandits for not returning to their homes.
Abdullah said that several Pandits who had made their homes in Delhi had come to see him when the J-K government asked them to return to the Valley.
"When the government made a move that the officers and doctors who are settled here should come back, they came to see me and said, look our children are now in schools here, our parents are ill and need medical care, we can't leave them back. So for God's sake let us live here," he said.
"Don't wait till the last guns stop firing. Come home!", he urged, adding "Who are you waiting forIJ Don't wait. You think Farooq Abdullah will come, hold your hand and take you there."
Abdullah said he had made efforts to help the Pandits return to the Valley but they continued to remain skeptical.
"I met them as a Chief Minister and even after that, I have gone to their homes (to request them to return.) It's not only me, but even Hurriyat leaders have come to you and told you to please come back," the former Chief Minister said.
Pertinent to mention here that Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of their homeland in 1990 to live in exile and 26 years since then governments at both central and state levels have changed but the plight of the community continues to remain inexplicable.
