Early Times Report
akhnoor, Apr 9: PoK Displaced Persons leader Rajiv Chuni organized road shoe at Akhnoor on Tuesday. Rajiv Chuni is contesting Lok Sabha elections as independent candidate from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency.
A large number of PoK DPs from different parts of Akhnoor, Chamb, Khour and other areas took part in the road show and pledged their unflinching support to Rajiv Chuni.
While addressing the gathering, Rajiv Chuni exhorted the PoK DPs to remain united and foil nefarious designs of the political parties, which were hell bent to divide the community for votes. "Some self-styled community leaders are falling prey to the political parties, which have always adopted the policy of divide and rule," he said and added that public will decide who true representative of the PoK DPs is.
Rajiv Chuni further alleged that all political parties, particularly BJP and Congress, which continued to take support of the PoK DPs, never took care of the community people and their grievances since decades of years.
Rajiv Chuni said that except him no one has right on votes of the PoK DPs, who have tested all political parties but got ditched every time. "This is for the first time that PoK Displaced Persons have got an opportunity to exercise their democratic right in support of a candidate who is from within the community and time tested," he said and added that each vote in his favour would add strength to the community and voice to their demands.
Some other representatives of the community from different areas of Jammu region, who took part in the road show and addressed the gathering, reiterated their pledge to ensure that not even a single vote of the PoK DPs may go to other candidates except Rajiv Chuni. Others, who addressed the road show, included Ashwani Kumar, Parvinder Singh, Shashi Paul Sharma, Pramod Ghai, Ved Raj Bali, K D Raina and Neeraj Kumar.
